We believe everyone deserves dignity, essential resources, and the chance to contribute to their community. Through food assistance, bartering, life skills education, and medical support, we create opportunities for empowerment and connection.
We strive to ensure that our services remain free or available by donation for those most vulnerable, ensuring everyone has access to essential resources regardless of financial constraints.
Our Story
We are proud to be the very first Non-Profit Charitable Bartering Foundation in Canada, dedicated to helping individuals and families access essential resources.
Founded in September 2023 by Wendy Gutcher, Sault Ste. Marie Community Pantry & Household Items/Bartering Foundation was created to support those in need. With deep roots in community service, Wendy’s previous work with Sault Ste. Marie Helping Hands helped thousands, earning her recognition for her contributions.
As our mission continues to grow, we are excited to announce our rebranding as Algoma Community Pantry Bartering Foundation, expanding our reach to serve the entire Algoma District and Sault Ste. Marie. Our commitment remains the same—to provide medical services, pantry and household essentials, community-based and institutional support, and valuable resources to individuals and families in need.
Through donations and community support, we continue to serve, reduce waste, and make technology accessible to those who need it most. Where No one goes to bed hungry, and we strive to ensure that every person in our community has the support they need.
